Our experienced inspector, Elie Farah, was at the beautiful Cathedral Rocks, Kiama, to inspect two properties on the waterfront home.

The CSIRO, Bureau of Meteorology, and the Australian Academy of Sciences have pointed the fact that by 2030, Australia will see an increase in storm surges and severe weather events in addition to 20 percent more months of drought. This means your bayside house stands to face both an increase in wind, rain, and salt spray but also days where severe heat will affect the materials within and outside of your home.

These properties will require more frequent maintenance to repair damage from the corrosion and pollution from the pernicious chemical, physical processes that impair the quality of the environment and the durability of the marine structures and materials. In addition, they are aggravated by the discharge into the seacoast of municipal, industrial, and agricultural effluents, which contain and produce toxic and highly corrosive components by biological and chemical degradation.

If the property is nestled among taller buildings, you will be sacrificing the beachfront view and benefit from the added protection from surrounding properties.
